Herman's House Vacation Rental Home
Named for Herman Brendel, the man who built it in the early 1960's for his bride, Bernadette (Koester) Brendel, we have transformed this home into a vacation rental home for guests to stay for a night, a weekend, a business trip, or an entire vacation. This quaint ranch-style home is perfectly situated in the heart of Osage County. Just 1/2 mile north of beautiful and historic Westphalia, MO, on Highway 63, the home is less than a few miles from several beautiful wedding venues (Kempker's Back 40, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Westphalia Lions Den and Knights of Columbus Hall), and will accommodate your family in comfortable surroundings.
Plus, there is an incredible back yard! A playhouse, playgrounds, a hiking trail, a fire truck with a slide, a school bus, giant sand box, and more will entertain adults and kids alike!

Herman's House features
- A comfortable living room
- Full kitchen - well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, full-sized refrigerator, stove and microwave -- everything you should need for your stay.
- Large utility room with washer and dryer and plenty of extra storage space, including a hanging clothes rack.
- Dining room with seating for six and a fully-stocked coffee bar
- Sun room with lovely wicker couch and rocking chair
- Master bedroom on main level with queen bed and nice closets
- Full bath with plenty of towels, wash cloths and a full-sized tub/shower
- The upstairs of the home is divided into two bedrooms. The larger of the two rooms is furnished with two twin beds and a small sitting area. The smaller room is furnished with a queen size bed and a beautiful washstand and shelf. The upstairs has sloped ceilings on the sides, and the main part of the rooms have a clearance of 6'6".
- Patio with two table and chairs sets (seating for 8) gas grill and privacy fence.

- An incredible back yard with so much for everyone to do! (Hiking trails, a deck with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit, a firetruck with a slide; a John Deere combine with a slide, a playhouse; blocks, Connect 4 and a farm play set in the upstairs of the barn; a swingset, a giant sandbox and more!)

Rates:
$155 per night for Sunday night through Thursday night.*
$170 per night for Friday night and Saturday night.*
*There is a one-time cleaning charge of $75 added on to the cost of your stay, as well as a $200 refundable damage deposit. There is also a $10 fee added on to the cost of your stay if bringing a pet.

While we don't provide breakfast, we have several great options. You can always bring your own food and make use of the kitchen; just down the road is Joe's Market (a wonderfully fully-stocked grocery store with made-to-order sandwiches as well as Hunt Brother's Pizza available); Towne Club Restaurant is located on Main Street and is open on Thursday-Saturday evenings. There is also an Eagle Stop with Godfather's Pizza; and Westphalia Pizza is located on Main Street. Again, Jefferson City is just 15 minutes away with dozens of restaurant options.
Payment
Payment is to be made in full at least 30 days before arrival date. If reservations and payments are made within thirty days of date of arrival, refunds will be made as per the cancellation policy below.
Cancellation Policy
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date. No refund is given for reservations cancelled less than 2 weeks before arrival date.
Refundable Damage Deposit
There is a $200 damage deposit, which will be refunded after checkout and inspection of home. If staying with pets, the refundable damage deposit is $350.
